Data Deletion Instructions
Simple ways to remove your account data from NorrQR.
Overview
You can delete your NorrQR account and associated data at any time. When you delete your account, short links and QR codes you created will stop resolving, and we remove personally identifiable information from our systems subject to legal, billing, and security obligations described below.
Delete It Yourself
- Sign in to your account.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Select Delete account and confirm.
If you have an active subscription, cancel first in Subscriptions (Stripe portal). Account deletion won’t automatically cancel a paid plan.
Request Deletion
If you can’t access your account, email us from the address linked to your NorrQR account:

- Your account email and (optional) most recent short link slug(s).
We may ask for additional verification to protect your data.
What Gets Deleted
- Account profile: name, email (from your sign-in provider) and session identifiers are removed or irreversibly pseudonymized.
- Content you created: short links, QR codes, custom colors/logos, and associated labels/notes are deleted. Slugs stop resolving.
- Analytics: per-link scan analytics tied to your account are removed or aggregated so they can no longer be linked back to you.
We retain only what we must for legal/financial reasons (see below).
Timelines & Backups
- Immediate effects: sign-in is revoked and your links/QRs stop resolving within minutes of deletion.
- Primary databases: account-scoped records are removed within 24 hours.
- Backups: encrypted backups roll off automatically; residual copies are purged within 30 days by rotation.
- Logs: security and operational logs may be retained up to 30 days (access-controlled) for fraud/abuse prevention.
Third-Party Services
We use a small set of sub-processors to run NorrQR. Deletion requests propagate to them as applicable:
- Authentication provider: your session is invalidated; profile data is removed on our side.
- Stripe (billing): subscription state and invoices live in Stripe. We cannot delete tax records; invoices/receipts are retained by Stripe as required by law. You can also manage your data via the Stripe Customer Portal.
- Analytics (lightweight): only reliability/performance metrics; no ad tracking. Account identifiers are removed or rotated on deletion.
Financial records (e.g., invoices, charge logs) must be kept for statutory periods and are isolated from your deleted account.
Changes
We may update these instructions as our product or legal obligations evolve. If changes are material, we’ll note them here. Continued use after updates indicates acceptance.
